Our front door opens directly into our living room. There is no entry way and no closet. So what is a neat freak to do with items that accumulate in this area such as shoes, purses and coats? Well, I have a coat tree that I love for jackets and purses, but no solution for the shoes that tend to pile up in front of the door. Since I was getting tired of staring at Mike's big work boots every night (clutter in my environment makes me uncomfortable), I found a cute basket for storing boots and shoes to place next to the door. The problem? Mike refuses to put his boots in the "stupid" basket. Every night when he gets home from work he takes his boots off and places them next to the basket. Not in the basket, but right next to the basket. Every. Single. Night. At this point he does it just because he knows it annoys me... and it does!

Go Blonder
I love my blond highlights, but hate paying for them to be redone every 6 weeks. In search of a cheap fix, I decided to try John Frieda's Go Blonder shampoo/conditioner, hoping it would help minimize the darker roots and extend the life of my color a few more weeks. It totally worked! My highlights are on week 7 right now and I feel like I could stretch this out indefinitely.

Half Marathon
I did it! I completed my first half marathon. It was really amazing. The first 7 miles went by fast and before I knew it, there were only 3 miles left and I was crossing the finish line. The weather was perfect. It was a great day. My Run Keeper app clocked me in at 2:50:13, but they haven't posted official chip times yet, so I'm not sure how accurate that is.
Warren threw up in the car just before we parked. It was pretty gross. |

A haircut for Warren
Warren got a fun new haircut for summer over the weekend. We took him to Monkey Dooz salon for kids in Eagle (they did a great job). He looks totally adorable and I can hardly stand it!

Post Tax Season Vaca
Are you related to any CPA's? I am. Four of them in fact. Every year we take a family vacation post tax season. Let me tell you... you haven't lived until you've vacationed with four accountants! In all seriousness though, we had a great time in Palm Desert with our family! The weather was perfect, not too hot, and we spent a lot of quality time in the pool sipping frosty beverages. I was even able to get all of my training runs in while vacationing (pat on the back). I did an 8 mile run on a beautiful, sunny, perfect desert morning. It was fantastic! Warren got to spend some time hanging with his cousins, Madeline and Lauren, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. He even got a little visit with his Uncle Steve & Aunt Julie (really wish we lived closer to them, we always have so much fun together!). I will post some pictures soon.
